Foundation Holds Free Sugar Test In Opobo, Friday
A free sugar testing and drug distribution exercise comes up this Friday and Saturday at Opobo town, headquarters of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The exercise is being organised by Team-Service in partnership with first step foundation.
According to a programme of activities made available to The Tide in Port Harcourt, the exercise will commence with an awareness rally from King Jaja Square to Nembe to be followd by a public lecture on the effect of diabetes at the Opobo Native Court hall.
The programme will be rounded up on Saturday with free sugar test, free drug distribution to diabetic patients and planting of diabetes centre at Opobo Health Centre.
Speaking in an interview with The Tide, the team leader, Mr David Apiafi said that the programme is being sponsored by Corporate Boat Services Limited.
Apiafi described Team Service as a humanitarian and development-oriented organisation committed to improving local livelihoods as well as rendering selfless service to the grassroots.
