Town Hall Meeting: Amaechi Parleys With ONELGA People Today
As part of his second leg of state-wide accountability forum, Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi will meet the people of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), today.
The Tide was reliably informed that the governor resumed the forum after the Good Governance Tour two weeks ago.
The accountability forum has provided the governor a platform to meet with citizens in the 23 local government areas, and interacting with them on the various projects embarked upon by his administration.
Already, Rt. Hon. Amaechi has covered about four local government areas, since he began the second leg of his meet the people tour last November.
Local government areas covered so far include Etche, Asari-Toru, Port Harcourt and Oyigbo, and ONELGA will make it five.
Secretary to the State Government, Mr George Feyii says that the visit provides, a two-way communication system for the government to feel the pulse of the people on its activities, which is a crucial ingredient for democracy.
Unlike the previous tours done by the Governor in his first term, sources say this phase of the tours is being done slowly, in order to fully engage the grassroots.
