Commissioner Hails Rivers Projects
Rivers Commissioner for Information, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, said last Saturday that the state had executed projects aimed at impacting on the people.
Semenitari said this in Port Harcourt at the Town Hall meeting of the good governance tour of the state.
She said government had carried out projects that would make the people feel the impact of democracy dividends.
Ibim said that government had completed 260 of the 750 primary schools earmarked for various communities in the state.
She also said government had embarked on agricultural projects to create employment and feed the people.
“We have new agro-industry village, complete with schools, housing and other amenities.
“Our banana project is on course with more than 300 persons already employed and will take more as the project grows more,” she said.
Ibim said fish farms in Buguma and Andoni Opobo were already 80 per cent completed and would begin production within the first quarter of the year.
She said that three power stations had been completed with the capacity of 560 megawatts of power.
The commissioner said government would sustain the projects to ensure that the people benefitted from them.
