RSNC To Partner NOA On Enlightenment
The Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC), publishers of The Tide Newspapers has reinstated its commitment to partner with all government agencies in the state to enable them perform their statutory responsibilities.
The General Manager of the Corporation, Mr. Celestine Ogolo said this when the State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Oliver Wolugbom led other management staff of the Agency on an advocacy visit to the Corporation, last Friday.
The general manager used the opportunity to inform he visitors that The Tide will increase its printing capacity to 35,000 copies of the newspapers per hour, adding that arrangements have been concluded for the delivery of a new Rotary machine for the Corporation.
According to him, “when this happens, the newspaper would be read in most of the rural communities across the state” adding that their information gathering would be more focus on grassroot oriented.
He stated that NOA has a daunting task to sensitise and enlighten people to change their attitude toward government policies, noting that the major problem the country was facing was attitudinal change.
The general manager urged government at all levels to appropriate enough funds to NOA to enable it effectively carry out its statutory responsibilities, adding that the agency had efficient manpower to deliver on its mandate.
Earlier, the State Director NOA, Mr. Oliver Wolugbum said they were in the corporation on an advocacy visit as well as to seek partnership with the Corporation, especially in areas of publicity.
Wolugbom said that the agency and the Corporation had an existing cooperation and urged the general manager to assist them in the dissemination of their sensitization programmes and campaign in the state.
