LG Boss Assures Legionnaires Of Better Deal
The Chairman of Degema Local Government Area, Hon Ibigoni Pokima, has assured legionnaires of his administration’s resolve to keep alive the memory of the fallen heroes by fulfilling all his promises and commitments to ex-servicemen and their families.
Hon Pokima who stated this during this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration at Degema lauded the legionaries for their exemplary conduct and the cordial relationship that has existed between them and the larger society.
The LG boss enjoined well meaning citizens especially employers of labour to provide financial assistance, and other incentives that would steer them towards better standards of living for the selfless services to the country.
Earlier, the acting chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Degema Local Government Command, Major Agba Ekine, called on the council chairman to assist them with office space and put smiles on the faces of legionnaires.
High point of the event was the laying of wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldiers, launching of the emblem and commissioning of the new cenotaph building by the present administration.
