Abe Seeks Support For Leaders
The Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial Zone, Senator Magnus Abe has urged Nigerians to come up with ideas that would help public office holders to perform creditably in office.
Senator Abe who said that during an interview session with journalists from the zone at Bera, Gokana said that public office holders can perform better, if the electorate generated ideas that will add to their knowledge to enhance effective representation.
He said that, the situation where so much was being expected from public office holders without corresponding support from the people does not augur well for democracy.
Senator Abe also stressed the need for Nigerians to offer prayer for the betterment of the country, while also encouraging people of the Rivers South East Senatorial zone to participate actively in the democratic process.
While urging journalists from the zone to form a formidable front, he urged them to continue to play according to the rules by being objective and fair.
Earlier, the chairman of Ogoni journalists platform (OJP) Mr. Borivule Akpo said that the journalists are impressed with the performances of Senator Magnus Abe in the National Assembly and urged other elected and appointed members from the zone to emulate it.
He also used the forum to call on the Federal government to address the problem of human capacity building in the zone.
