Korea Partners Nigeria On Youth Dev

public of Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, on Monday called for close working relationship with Nigeria in the area of youth development.
Jong made the call in Abuja during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Youth Development Mr Inuwa Abdul-Kadir, in the bid to strengthen the existing ties between the two countries.
According to him, such relationship will be based on rendering support to Nigeria in the area of technology training.
He observed that President Goodluck Jonathan had identified youth empowerment as priority area in his transformation agenda, and promised to partner with Nigeria to achieve meaningful development.
“There are 200 Korean technologists and specialists that are currently providing support to the Nigerian government and people.
“We want to establish close working relations with the government to promote youth development between the two countries.
He said that the training would engage the youths and keep them away from vices.
“It is very important to take issues bordering young people seriously because they form the major part of the nation’s population.
“Youths are future leaders and the future of every nation lies on them. “It is therefore necessary to focus on educating the youths, organize and mobilise them, so as to redirect their energies into useful venture that can drive economic growth,” he said.
Abdul-Kadir said that such discussion should be carried out regularly to further strengthen ties between the countries.
He declared Nigeria’s readiness to work closely with Korea to boost youth development.
He said that the partnership should include orientation and moral education.
“One of the problems facing youths across the world today is laziness to learn new skills, which can better their lives. “It is important to have a value system because without t such, there cannot be regulation and orderliness of youths in the society.
So, we should engage our youths using the social media to imbibe good tenets during the course of the training and promote the use of technology devices dissemination and if their attention are properly driven, it will enhance their growth.” Abdul-Kadir said.
