Archbishop Rededicates Diocese
The Archbishop, Province of Niger Delta and Bishop, Diocese of Niger Delta North, the most Rev’d Ignatus C.O. Kattey (JP) has re-dedicated the Diocese for the service of God in the year 2013.
The rededication service which was held at the Cathedral Church of St Paul, Diobu, Port Harcourt on Saturday. January 5, 2013 featured the re-affirmation of faith and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ and pledge by all church workers ranging from the clergy to laity to endeavour to work ceaselessly for the unity of the church and fellowship in the Diocese.
In a sermon, during the rededication service, the vicar of St Mark’s Anglican Church Rumuolumeni, Parish, Rev. Ifeanyi Aniagboso urged the church of God to rise up and take its place on earth.
Rev Aniagboso called on Christians to make up their mind to agree with God to take their stand.
Said he; “the sons of the devil has made a carcature of the church as if the church has no power.”
He opined that it was time for the church to manifest its purpose and to achieve this, the man of God said the church must go to the Lordship of Christ.
“Go back to Christ to achieve the purpose for which Christ came. The church belongs to Christ and not anybody,” he said.
Rev Aniagboso said that the church should return to fellowship with God for fresh anointing adding that the church should also be prepared to carry its cross and start to think of transition as pilgrims.
The rededication service was marked with prayers for the various units and arms of the church including the clergy and wives, knights and ladies, Men’s Christian Association (MCH), Women’s Ministry etc.
