“Seek Parents’ Consent In Marriage”
Bishop of Methodist Church Nigeria, Wellington Yobe (rtd) has enjoined couples to seek the consent of their parents before marriage to get their blessing and support.
Yobe who gave the admonition last weekend at the Holy Matrimory between his daughter, former Miss Blessing Lerra Yobe and Rev. (Dr) Clifford Meesua Sibani at Methodist Church Nigeria, D/Line Cathedral, Port Harcourt charged the couple to seek the face of God to attract His blessings and protection.
According to him, the interesting thing in the marriage between his daughter and Rev. Sibani was that both of them belong to the priestly family, saying “when I was bringing up Sibani, I did not know he will pick someone from my family as a wife”.
Also speaking, a steward of the church, B.B Adooko said that marriage being ordained by God requires everyone who attained the age to marry in order to lead a responsible and respectable life as well.
Adooko urged the couple to love and accommodate each other while making sure they resolve any misunderstanding within themselves.
The groom, Rev. Clifford Sibani, a lecturer at the Methodist Theological Institute, Umuahia said, “It’s a good thing to marry because if you are married, you are fulfilled in life”.
He advised those yet to marry to be patient and search well as according to him, not all women are wife materials and not all men can be called husbands, since many people have different perception to marriage.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
