Board Chairman Assures On Quality Education
The Chairman of Rivers State Senior Secondary Schools Board, Chief Allwell Onyesoh, says there is hope for the state to overcome its problems in the area of education, if the next administration after Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi sustains existing educational policy and programmes.
Chief Onyesoh, who was represented by the Director Educational Service, Rivers State Senior Secondary Schools Board, Chief Ibioku Igonibo Jackreece gave the assurance over the weekend at the Oginigba Comprehensive Secondary Schools Maiden Magazine “OCSS Herald” launching in Port Harcourt.
He stressed, fact that there were so many good and important programmes that the government was trying to achieve, it becomes difficult to actualize the vision rapidly.
The Board chairman assured that, as manager of government’s policies, the Board was on the committee to ensure that the vision of Governor Amaechi on education is activalized.
He commended the school authority for employing strategies to fast track the growth of quality education in the school since it was founded in 1995.
He said, the C.S.S. maiden magazine would spur the students more to enhance quality education in the school.
The Paramount Ruler of Oginigba Community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, HRH Eze G.B. Odum commended the school authority for giving quality education to the children in the area.
On the efforts of the community Eze Odum who was represented by the secretary of Oginigba Council of Chiefs, High Chief Roland A. Odum said the community has donated computer sets, books and awards to students as part of the community’s effort to boost education among the youths in the area.
He commended Governor Amaechi’s policy and programme on education in the state and noted that the Governor has revamped public schools to be relevant in such that many high class people were withdrawing their ward and children from private to public schools in the state.
