Niger Delta Students Campaign Against Terrorism
The Niger Delta students have solicited support for their campaign against local terrorism at the University of Benin which would be rounded off this week.
Also, the National Association of Niger Delta Students led by its President, Mr Ehiogun Kenneth of University of Benin has presented an award of excellence to a distinguished academic, industrialist and philanthropist in the Niger Delta Region, Dr Sokeiprim Amachree.
Presenting the award, the National President of the body, Mr Ehiogun Kenneth said the association decided to honour Dr Sokeiprim, the Chief Executive Officer of Sigma Technical Agencies Limited in recognition of his invaluable contributions towards building capacity of youths in the region, serving as a beacon of peace and an advocate of the less privileged in society.
The student’s body also paid glowing tribute to the exemplary lifestyle, exhibited by Dr Amachree and urged him not to relent in rendering selfless service to the people of the region.
Responding, the Chief Executive of Sigma Technical Agencies and former member, Governing Council of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Dr Sokeiprim Amachree appealed to Youths of the Niger Delta Region to eschew violence and channel their energies towards productive ventures as the people of the region are peaceful, hospitable and hard working while thanking the National Association of Niger Delta Students for the award.
“We should keep aside the attitude of going to make trouble, carrying gun. If you carry gun you would not go far” .
“He who kills by the sword will die by the sword. So determine to work hard, take a trade, develop yourselves, earn a living, be a professional, excel and get the respect you deserves”, he added.
Dr Amachree trains young Nigerian Engineers on Auto Card free of charge and was instrumental to the donation of computer software to Nigerian Universities through his Canadian Joint Venture partners in collaboration with the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
