Immigration Boss Warns Officers Against Illegal Operations
The Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) in Kano State, Dr Brasca Ifeadi, has warned officers of the command against “illegal operations”.
He gave the warning recently while decorating 124 newly promoted officers with their new ranks in Kano.
’’Involving yourselves in illegal operations will amount to disobedience to the rules of engagement in service”, he said.
He described the newly promoted officers as “lucky” as their promotions was approved by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Abba Moro.
The comptroller also advised them not to go “AWOL” (Absence without Leave) as they need to justify the salaries they were being paid
He also urged the officers to ensure vigilance at all times in view of the prevailing security challenges in the country.
“ You are expected to be involved in proper monitoring and surveillance of those around you, especially in local government areas”, he added.
.“As you are aware, the Federal Government’s concession to local governments to register immigrants has since been stopped’’, he said.
Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, Mr Usman Abdulkarim, assured the command that they would put in their best to justify their new responsibilities.
