Delta Govt Donates Ambulances, Towing Van To FRSC
Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta on Wednesday presented two ambulances and one towing truck to the state Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) .
The governor, who presented the vehicles to the Sector Commander, Mrs Susan Ajenge at the Government House, Asaba, said it was to enhance the activities of the corps.
Uduaghan expressed the hope that the vehicles would be used to save lives and reduce indiscriminate parking of vehicle along the highways.
He urged the FRSC to immediately embark on the evacuation of illegally parked and broken down vehicles on the roads, to prevent accident.
Our correspodent reports that the vehicles were released a day after the governor had pledged to assist the FRSC with logistics.
Uduagham said the government would fully enforce the ban on the use of commercial motorcycles in Asaba, Warri, Effurun and other major towns beginning from September 30.
Receiving the vehicles, Ajenge thanked the governor for the gesture and pledged to utilise them effectively.
