AY Live Concert: Timaya, Terry G Others Thrill PH Fans
The entertainment clan in Port Harcourt and its environs were taken by storm as Bayelsa State born Raggae Star, Timaya performed live at AY’s night of music and comedy held at the Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt last Sunday.
The Egberi papa 1 of Bayelsa who thrilled the large crowd that turned out for the event with his hit songs including his latest, “we don show,’ expressed delight for the opportunity to perform in Port Harcourt after a long period.
The Lagos based dread locked star who was overwhelmed by his popularity among the fans disclosed that he was a very poor boy who hawked plantain in the streets of Port Harcourt, before he embraced music and today God has blessed him.
According to him, he is now rich and one of the raves of the moment in the Nigerian music industry with his music ruling.The airwaves, parties and other social events across the country.
He stressed that with God all things are possible. He therefore urged the ‘bad belle” people to struggle hard and pray for their own divine blessing instead of gossiping about his success and trying to pull him down. The reggae crooner said his fans should expect more hit songs from him in the shortest possible time.
Timaya also noted that the mammot crowd that attended the live show is a clear testimony that night life has returned to the garden city and the entertainment industry in the state is once more vibrant and with time Port Harcourt will take back the centre stage as the home of entertainment and showbiz in Nigeria.
Another wave making music star in Nigeria Terry G who fired up the night with his popular songs and energic performance was so excited with the crowd that he removed his wristwatch, and neckelace and threw them to the crowd. This was received by loud ovation and shouts of encouragement from the crowd.
The hiphop star who swayed the mammot crowd with is ‘swagger’ track at a point removed his shirt and the crowd went wild with excitement as they sang and danced along with him. he also gave out his VCD cassettes to some of the fans to show appreciation to them.
The crowd also had a swell time as they were entertained with rib cracking Jokes from seasoned comedians such Klint the drunk,’ I go die, I go save, AY, Gordons, Diplomatic Akas Baba – of Wazobia FM Port Harcourt, Frank, Sheyi love as well as Mr. Incredible who entertained the crowd with the rendition of songs from some popular artistes.
There was also performance from other uprising artistes, fashion show etc.
It was indeed a night of music, dance laughter as well as flitz and razzmatazz with the who is who in the entertainment industry in attendance while some top politicians and government functionaries were not left out.

They Booed, Threw Bottles At Me – Tems Recounts
R&B star, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has recounted the early-career challenges she faced, revealing that she was once booed out of the stage while performing at a school event.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmen, the Crazy Tings crooner shared that she wasn’t only booed but was also harassed with plastic bottles.
“I remember one time I was going to perform at my school as an up-and-coming singer and I thought I was going to receiving a standing ovation.
“But I got booed. They even threw plastic bottles at me,” she recalled.
Tems explained that despite the embarrassing incident and other such rejections, she remained determined to pursue a career in music.
The Tide Entertainment reports that Tems admitted that some of the initial rejections she faced could be due to her conviction to stick to her originality instead of doing covers or familiar sounds like most of her peers.
The Grammy-winning singer said looking back now, she is glad that she didn’t compromise her style despite the initial pressures.

Primeboy Pleads For Mohbad’s Burial
A close associate of late singer Mohbad, Primeboy, has appealed for the artiste’s burial nearly three years after his death.
According to him, Mohbad’s body remains in the mortuary since September 12, 2023, pending burial arrangements.
The Tide Entertainment reports that in a statement Primeboy urged the family, public, and government to permit the burial, stating, “It’s been almost three years since Mohbad left us. His body is still in the mortuary. I’m begging the family, I’m begging the public, I’m begging the government, please let’s bury our brother. He deserves a befitting burial.”
It would be recalled that Mohbad’s death sparked public outrage, protests, and investigations. Ongoing autopsy examinations, police inquiries, and legal proceedings have delayed burial arrangements amid family disagreements and public scrutiny.
