Academy Matriculates 560 Students In PH
The Lagos Aviation, Maritime , Business Academy Port Harcourt Centre, has matriculated over 560 students into different fields of study.
Speaking during the matriculation ceremony, the Rector of the Academy, Dr. Emeka Udowu, emphasized the need for entrepreneurship education, which he said is the bane of national development.
Dr Idowu pointed out that the institution sets out to embrace quality business education and professionalism, stressing that LAMB Academy would remain focused while harnessing both human and material resources necessary for the realization of the founding fathers and the advancement of the academy.
“Since inception of the Lagos Aviation, Maritime and Business school12 years ago, the academy has remained focused, while harnessing together both human and material resources necessary for the realization of our vision for the advancement of LAMB Academy.
The quality of professionals we have produced in different academic fields is a clear testimony of the high academic excellence we set at the inception of the institution”, the Rector said.
He, however, assured the students that the academy would not compromise on quality training and mentoring while calling on both the matriculating students and the old ones to imbibe the culture of integrity, hard work, discipline, high moral value.
The coordinator of the Port Harcourt centre, Mr. Mohmmed Uthman said the need to establish the business school in Port Harcourt arose from the fact that the oil rich state is a coastal area with a sea port, airport and a lot of logistics firms. “The Lagos Aviation, Maritime and Business Academy was brought to Port Harcourt to close the gap by building relevant capacity to take the huge opportunities in the oil and gas industry, logistics firms and the emerging corporate institutions”, he said.
Uthman urged Rivers State Government and the corporate community to take advantage of the business school by sponsorring their staff and people, so that they can grab the opportunities.
