…Wolves Insist On Boycott
Warri Wolves FC is insisting on their withdrawal from the Federation Cup despite the perceived olive branch extended to them by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Football authorities at the Glass House has shifted the kick-off for Group A games to yesterday in order to afford clubs like Warri Wolves FC and Samba FC of Enugu, who were yet to report to the venue, another chance to link up with their counterparts in Bauchi.
However, when Timi Ebikagboro the media officer of Warri Wolves was contracted to confirmed if the club had made a U-turn on their decision not to play in Bauchi, he insisted that the club still stood on their previous position.
Warri Wolves along with Enyimba had earlier expressed their reluctance to play in Bauchi given the high rate of insecurity in the northern part of the country.
But while Enyimba had a change of heart after assurances of adequate security by the NFF, Warri Wolves have insisted on boycotting the competition since the NFF refused to change the venue from Bauchi.
