Sambo Confident Of PDP Victory In Edo
Vice President Namadi Sambo has said in Benin that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would re-capture Edo during the July 14 governorship election in the state.
Sambo said this at the Edo South Senatorial District rally at the Sam Ogbemudia Stadium, witnessed by thousands of party supporters.
He assured the people that the election would be devoid of violence as witnessed during the 2011 presidential election in the state and that it would be based on one-man-one-vote.
He advised youths and the electorate in general to resist any temptation to become violent during and after the election.
A former PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, Chief Tony Anenih, and two-time Governor of the defunct Bendel State, Chief Samuel Ogbemudia, as well as other party leaders, spoke of the need for a violence-free election.
Anenih urged the people to vote for the PDP candidate, Maj-Gen. Charles Arhiavbere.
He said that the presence of some party stalwarts such as Ogbemudia and Chief Gabriel Igbinedion at the rally, showed that the public desperately needed a change of administration.
