Amaechi Has Shot Rivers To Prominence
The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mrs Ibim Semenitari says, her nomination by President Goodluck Jonathan to serve on the board of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) is a reflection of the good governance which Governor Amaechi has bestowed on the state.
Reacting to the appointment in a press briefing in her office, Mrs. Semenitari said that Rivers State had been shot up to prominence through the policies and programme of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
“The matter is that we cannot claim any glory, Rivers State has been shot up to prominence, because of the work of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. “The things he has done have put the state on the front burner which make the rest of us who work for him become beneficiary of his efficiency and of the work, he has done in the state” she said.
She described Governor Amaechi as a clear example to others in the country in terms of efficiency in hardwork, contending that this situation has made people from the other parts of the country to relate those working for the Government with efficiency in service delivery.
The commissioner said that the new development would reposition the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to ensure better information management in the country, a situation that would help to change the perception index of Nigeria, abroad.
According to her, the new Board of the NIPR is poised to play a crucial role in the management of the nation’s image and reputations with a view to changing some of the negative perceptions which people hold about Nigeria.
She said that, the new council will put in place programmes for the training of information managers in the country, while the issue of quacks and quackery will be taken seriously by council.
