Fubara Assures Quality, Affordable Healthcare For Rivers Residents …Says Ahoada Zonal Hospital To Be Ready In Q1, 2025 …Inspects GGSS, 33.5km Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Road

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has directed the contractors handling the upgrade, remodelling and expansion work on the four Zonal Hospitals in the State to increase the pace of work in order to make the derivable services available to the people in good time.
Governor Fubara gave the directive when he visited to assess the extent of work achieved so far at the Zonal Hospital project site in Ahoada Town, Ahoada-East Local Government Area of the State on Monday.
The Governor, who was conducted round the different sections of the Zonal Hospital by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, said the provision of quality healthcare services remains a major focus of his administration.
He said: “We are in Ahoada-East Local Government Area to inspect the ongoing upgrading of our Zonal Hospital here.
“You are aware that we just left Rumuokurusi in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area where we went to see the extent of work done on the Rumuokurusi-Igbo-Etche Road project.
“Now, we are here in Ahoada-East Local Government Area to check one of the major items on our agenda for governance, which is healthcare.
“We have seen what they are doing, and I can say that we are also impressed with what they are doing. We are very sure that before the first quarter of next year, this project will be delivered to the good people of this Senatorial District,” he assured.
He restated the priority focus of the administration in the provision of accessible and affordable quality healthcare services to the people of the State, saying that the government’s investment in the sector was worth the effort.
Governor Fubara also visited the Government Girls Secondary School, Ahoada in Ahoada-East Local Government Area, under reconstruction with a greater percentage of work achieved.
The Governor, who was taken round the educational facility by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr Ovy Chinedum Chukwuma, re-emphasised that the investment in education infrastructure upgrade was in line with the administration’s commitment to give human capital development strategic boost to strengthen manpower needs of the State.
Also, Governor Fubara took a long drive, covering half the distance of the entire stretch of the 33.5 kilometers Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Road project to assess the extent of work done so far.
Explaining the progress of work, the State Commissioner for Works, Barrister Elloka Tasie-Amadi, said that piling has been achieved at some points of the road, adding that the contractor has assured delivery of the project according to specifications and on schedule.
Responding, the Governor expressed optimism that with the extent of work achieved already, the all-important project will be delivered for use of the people of the benefitting three local governments of Ikwerre, Emohua and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni and others who ply the road.
