Customs Impound Arms, Had Drugs At Tin Can Port
As part of efforts towards sanitizing Nigeria’s sea ports, the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has impounded cache of arms, ammunition and illicit drugs imported into the country through the Tin Can Port in Lagos.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the seizures, Customs Area Controller, Tin Can Island Command, Comptroller Dera Nnadi, said the seizures were made by Eagle Eye officers attached to the Command.
Nnadi said some persons arrested in line with the seizures are still in detention and would be prosecuted accordingly.
The seized items include military camouflage and illicit drugs such as Colorado, heroine, and cocaine.
He listed other arms recovered from the suspects to include automatic single barrel rifles and pump action guns, among other weapons.
