Lufthansa Resumes Frankfurt-PHC Route …Lauds RSG
The Rivers State Government has been lauded for its support and assistance towards Lufthansa Airline’s resumption of flight operations along the Port Harcourt – Frankfurt route. Lufthansa’s General Manager for Nigeria’s operation, Port Harcourt, Mr Herbert Reichle made this known yesterday while fielding questions from Government House correspondents shortly after a closed-door meeting with Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi in Port Harcourt. Mr Reichle, who is also Lufthansa’s Managing Director, West Africa, said although there may not be any radical changes in service delivery along its established routes, the four flights per week from Port Harcourt International Airport would record improved packaging. He clarified that operations along the Port Harcourt – Frankfurt route had to be stopped following renovation work at the Port Harcourt International Airport, and thanked the Rivers State Government for making the resumption of operation possible. “The Port Harcourt – Frankfurt route is one of our strategic routes and it gives us great joy to be back”, he stressed. It would be recalled that Lufthansa started business along the Port Harcourt – Frankfurt route in 2005 and had a strategic partnership with the state government before the renovation work at the Port Harcourt Airport which forced the airline to stop operations .
