Don Urge Politicians, Stakeholders to Embrace Peace In Rivers State
Following the landslide Supreme Court victory of Governor Siminalayi Joseph Fubara of Rivers State, a renowned Sociologist at University of Johannesburg, South Africa, Dr Emmanuel Pikibo Ngeri Rowlands has called on politicians, youths and stakeholders in Rivers state to embrace peace and unity to move the state to forward
The Don also appealed to the political actors to shun violence but rally round the Governor to transform the Socio economic development of the state
Dr Ngeri Rowlands stated this in a statement made available to TheTide in Port Harcourt
The Rivers state born academia also urged the youths, traditional rulers and stakeholders to set aside partisan differences and unite behind Governor Sim Fubara.
“To all Rivers State indigenes, politicians, stakeholders, and traditional rulers, we implore you to set aside partisan differences and unite behind Governor Sim Fubara. His victory is a testament to the trust and confidence placed in him by the electorate. Now is the time to rally around his leadership, for he has demonstrated a clear vision for the progress and prosperity of our beloved state”
“This triumph not only reaffirms the will of the people but also marks a pivotal moment in the trajectory of Rivers State’s future.”
The renowned Sociologist appealed to youths and hired political thugs to embraced peace than seek to disrupt the peace and stability of Rivers State
“We must vehemently denounce the actions of hired thugs and political adversaries who seek to disrupt the peace and stability of Rivers State. Let it be known that there is no place for violence or discord in our quest for development. Instead, we call upon these individuals to lay down their arms and embrace the path of peace”.
The Okrika born politician said it is only through peace and unity that the state can pave way for meaningful progress and attract much needed investment to our state.

The University lecturer appealed to Governor Fubara to prioritize the creation of employment opportunities for the youths of Rivers State to reduced social unrest and criminality
” Our young people are the backbone of our society, and their empowerment is essential for the sustained growth and development of our state.
He also called on the Governor to embarked on education empowerment, skills acquisition programs, training and jobs creation for the teeming youths of the state

Haniel Jack Foundation Awards Five Rivers Indigenes Scholarship
The Ibanibo Haniel Jack Foundation has awarded scholarships to five Rivers State indigenes in different tertiary institutions.
The scholarship programme was announced on Easter Sunday by Rev. Dr. Samuel Wachukwu, who is also the presiding pastor of Redeemer Baptist Church, at No. 44/46 Lumumba Street, Mile Two Diobu, in Port Harcourt.
Speaking, the chairman of the occasion, Barrister Karibi George, advised the recipients to justify the scholarship by ensuring that they put in their best and finish at the expected time.
George reminded them that opportunity comes but once and they should take advantage of the opportunity that comes their way judiciously.
“Those of you who are beneficiaries of this scholarship should also remember to help others and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“I advise you to justify the opportunity given to you and make the man who gave you the scholarship, yourself, and your family proud,” Barrister George said.

He explained that the scholarship spans undergraduate and postgraduate levels in various high institutions in Nigeria. He thanks Sir Jack for the gesture.
The scholarship is to promote education in our society, most especially for Rivers indigenes, and equally assist those who cannot immediately afford tuition fees.

The scholarship was borne out of God’s blessings, and this is a way to give back to the society. Besides, two of the beneficiaries are direct employees of the chairman of the foundation, sir.
Ibanibo Haniel Jack, who is also the chief executive officer (CEO) of White House Hotel, in Port Harcourt.
Chief Prezi Diffa, while presenting the awards, commended Sir Ibanibo Haniel Jack, who has deemed it necessary to give back to society.
Chief Diffa equally advised the beneficiaries to take their academics seriously and count themselves lucky.
“The man who has given you this scholarship wants to better your lives, so please put in every effort to ensure you finish the school with flying colors,” Chief Diffa said.
The beneficiaries are Isoboye Haniel Douglas, Naomi Douglas, Charles Batubo, Ajé Sokari, and
Dakoru Owen Amachree.
