Otuo Royal House Suspends Edah Family Unit In Andoni
In a bid to uphold the tradition and cultural integrity of Unyeada Kingdom, the Otuo Royal House in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State has announced the suspension of the Edah family unit, following alleged misconduct.
The decision was contained in a statement, signed by the chairman, Otuo Royal House Kingmakers Assembly, Chief Eugene Elleh JP and Caretaker Chairman, Otuo Royal House General Assembly, ThankGod Abbey, at a joint meeting of both bodies.
According to the statement, the decision was taken to uphold and maintain the sanctity of native laws and customs in the land.
The statement read in part, “The suspension is premised on the gross misconduct of Edah family, and the several, incessant and unabated violations of the native laws, custom, tradition, practice, royal order and the ethical code of the royal family, especially their letter to the incumbent king dated the 26th day of August, 2022 which was aimed at setting an abominable and dangerous precedent, cause a sacrilegious deviation from the ancient tradition and custom thus cause intra/inter royal family crisis and the forceful extinction of the revered king”.
The statement explained further that the suspension became necessary following repeated violations of traditional norms, characterised by defiance and disregard for established protocols, destabilising the harmony within the Royal House as well as undermining the authority of the monarch, His Eminence, King (Dr) Israel Ujamadeng Otuo (IX) JP., Okan-ama and Natural Ruler of Unyeada.
The suspension, according to the statement, took effect from January 20, 2024 and could only be lifted after the Edah family unit must have rendered a formal apology to the king and people of the Otuo Royal House of Unyeada Kingdom.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
