20 Persons Receive 18 Seater Bus In Rivers Community
The Year 2024 opened on a nice page in Ikwerre Local Government Area for 20 indigenes of Omagwa Community, who were empowered with 18 Seater Bus each.
The donor, Engr. Grant Offor, said part of the decision to carry out the project was to enable the less privileged ones to have a level of relief.
Another reason, Offor said, was to improve on the Urban Transportation scheme in Ikwerre Local Government Area.
Offor, a Fellow of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, noted that his gesture was also targeted at empowering and adding value to the lives of some members of his Community.
The philanthropist, who is a titled Chief and Managing Director of Ramec Group of Companies, noted that the best way to encourage people was to do that which will make a positive impact on their lives.
The Tide gathered that the 20 Buses were donated to widows, less privileged, pensioneers, those who lost their job during the COVID-19 pandemic, and other indigent people .
Each beneficiary, The Tide further gathered, was from each of the families that made up Omagwa.
The oil mongol also said the Bus donation was the first phase of the G – empowerment programme, saying the second phase will cut across all Ikwerre ethnic nationality.
Speaking at the event the Paramount Ruler of Omagwa Community, HRH Eze, Amb. Achinike Amadi, Jp, Okpo the 21st ), thanked the donor for his kindness.
Amadi also called on other Omagwa sons and daughters to emulate Offor and consider the need to help and develop the community.
One of the beneficiaries, a widow, Mrs Charity Amanwo, said the Bus was a relief to her as she can now live a good life take care of her children with the proceeds from the business.
Another beneficiary, a 70 year old farmer, Mr Sampson Kalamalu, saw the gift as an addition life to him.
The event was held on Tuesday January 2, 2024 at Omagwa Community in Ikwerre Local Government Area.
