Ex-Tide Editor Proposes African Anthem
A former Editor at The Tide Newspaper, Kadilo Brown, has canvassed for a proposal for an African Anthem.
In a release made available to The Tide, she said it is a proposal that will enable the continent assume its rightful position in the comity of nations.
Brown, who retired as a Permanent Secretary in the Rivers State Civil Service, said “a common anthem for Africa will promote a Pan-African identity, unity, shared values, and heritage that binds nations together”.
She further said the anthem “is also geared at inspiring Africans to pull their resources together to raise their stakes as a people capable of ruling the world”.
Brown, a media personality, noted that “Africa is home to a rich tapestry of cultures, languages, traditions and numerous resources, which should be harnessed to make Africa great”.
Her music outfit, “Millions Cry”, performed the African Anthem and song, “Arise Africa”, at the Conference of Africans in Diaspora in Abuja.
