Obuah Lauds Rivers Election Tribunal Ruling
As goodwill messages continue to trail the October 2, 2023, ruling by the Rivers State Governorship Election Petitiions Tribunal in Abuja, which favoured the State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the immediate past state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bro Felix Obuah, has described the victory as another vote of confidence on the PDP in Rivers State.
Obuah, who is currently on vacation outside the country, lauded the Tribunal for its thoroughness, and promptness in addressing the petitions by the All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), and other parties against Governor Fubara’s victory in the March 18, 2023 Governorship election.
He applauded the Tribunal for what he called “the detailed and unprejudiced finding that have put paid to the petitions, thus allowing the Governor to now focus on governance”.
Expressing elation over the victory at the tribunal, Obua said it is an indication of the support of Rivers people for the PDP which translated to the victory of all the party’s candidates in the 2023 elections.
Bro Obuah who is also the immediate past Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), predicted more winning streaks for the PDP in subsequent elections in the State.
This, he said, is because of “the array of people-oriented projects, good governance and quality leadership already put in place by the immediate past Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, now the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja”.
While thanking Rivers people for their support for the PDP in the State, he assured that the supports will never be taken for granted, and will be reciprocally rewarded through good policies and programmes.
According to him, this will manifest in such areas as continued massive infrastructural and human capital developments across the state, security of lives and properties, and a conducive atmosphere for business by the Fubara administration.
“I, therefore, enjoin you all not to relent in your support and shun any tactics by political opponents and detractors to deceive you into anything that may be tantamount to counter or anti-government”, Bro Obuah appealed.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
