New Police Commander Harps On Service Delivery
Following his recent posting to the Eleme Area Command, ACP Tayo Ogunsimi,has urged police officers under his command to deliver quality service to the populace.
Ogunsimi said quality service delivery by officers under his command remains key in the discharge of their professional calling and constitutional roles.
He made the disclosure recently while on a familiarisation tour of Onne Police Division.
The new Eleme Area Commander opined that the tour was aimed at putting officers on their toes for effective service delivery to the citizenry.
He stressed the need for police officers to dedicate themselves to duty by providing better services to the public and being alive to their duties.
Ogunsimi insisted that the new Inspector General of Police with the assistance of Rivers State Commissioner of Police has zero tolerance to corruption ,bribery and extortion, saying their mantra has been effective and efficient community policing in line with global best practices.
He noted that Eleme area command will not be exempted.
According to him, the familiarisation tour was geared towards having interactive sessions with members of the PCRC and by extension,the public.
“Also lecture our men under this division for effective service delivery. Ensure our men put in their best in service to the nation and working towards dedication to duty. The efforts of the IG ,CP of Rivers State must be supported to accomplish our desired objectives. We will continue to show more support to ensure the society which we live in is crime-free and all forms of criminality are reduced to the barest minimum. We must commend the Rivers CP for doing excellently well since he came on board. I will reciprocate by keeping the flag flying in the best interest of Rivers State.
We will work with relevant stakeholders in the command to achieve it ,” he said.
Earlier, the Divisional Police Officer, Onne, CSP Ijeoma Oguchukwu had expressed his gratitude to the new Area Commander for the visit, stressing that the new Area Commander had the necessary and requisite credentials and qualities to maintain law and order in the area.
The Onne DPO reiterated his determination to reduce crime in the area by synergising with stakeholders.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
