Akawor Commissions New Hotel
Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Amb Desmomd Akawor, has commissioned Mervic Hotel, Oyigbo.
Akawor while commissioning the hotel recently in Oyigbo said the commissioning signals opportunities to expand the hospitality industry in the area.
Akawor said the ring road as conceived by the present administration in the State which transverses Oyigbo and other LGAs will cause explosion in the hospitality industry which Mervic Hotel is not left out.
He said it will give facelift to the deplorable condition of Oyigbo internal roads.
The former Ambassador to South Korea said the ring road would tremendously turn the affected LGAs to Dubai of Africa, commending both the immediate past and present administrations in the State for initiating such landmark project aimed at changing the landscape of Port Harcourt and its environs.
He advised the owner of the hotel to ensure that best services are given to guests in order to remain in business, saying convenience, communication and approach matter a lot in the hospitality business
Earlier, the owner of the hotel, Hon Ibeawuchi Alex said he thought it wise to bring home some of things he has been seeing in Port Harcourt home
Alex,Oyigbo PDP Chairman said no stone will be left out to make Mervic Hotel one of the best in Oyigbo and beyond.
He said his zeal to impact humanity and his immediate environ by creating job opportunities to the youths was the reason behind opening the hotel.
He specifically thanked his mentor, Amb Akawor for coming to identify with him
And described Akawor as a true father who has remained focused, steadfast and committed in carrying people along.
The Mervic Hotel commissioning witnessed the attendance of Amb Desmond Akawor, his wife, Ene, PDP State Secretary, George Benebo; Commissioner for youths, Dr Gbali Chisom, Oyigbo Chairman, Elder Akara Okechukwu; Jacob Bright; and ONELGA PDP Chairman, among others.
