Monarch Lauds Wike For Successful Handover
The Paramount Ruler of Rumuola in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, the Eze Opara Ola IV, Eze Henry Wonodi, has commended the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, for the successful conclusion of his tenure and hand over to his successor.
Speaking to newsmen in his palace last week following the hand over ceremony in Port Harcourt, Eze Wonodi expressed delight over Wike’s successful eight year administration in the State.
According to him, “I heartily congratulate our former Governor, Nyesom Wike, alias ‘Mr. Super Quality Project’, for his successful hand over to our amiable nascent Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara. I will not hesitate to thank him at all times.
“I am delighted over the transformation our state has witnessed. Residents of the state, both Rivers indigenes and non-indigenes, are very grateful for the tremendous work Wike has done in transforming the state to a greater height of prosperity, both in infrastructural development and security”.
The monarch said he and his people would continue to pray for divine guidance and protection for Wike as he aspires for greater leadership position.
“We say a big thank you and pray to the Almighty God for direction, as well as lead him to better positions”, said Wonodi.
He urged the people of his clan to remain law-abiding, as well as give maximum support to Fubara’s administration in the state.
The monarch, however, warned some elements within the clan with the habit of fomenting crisis and instigating cases in the stool of Epara Ola to desist from their actions.
He explained that the stool of the paramount ruler of Rumuola is an ancient one, which was gazzetted since 1930 during the colonial administration of Concral, the then Governor of Eastern Region of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He stated that Eze Wonodi Odota was the first paramount ruler of Rumuola and was succeeded by Eze Willy Odota, adding that Eze Roland Amadi took over the reign subsequently and was succeeded by him via the custom and traditional process of Ikwerre land.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
