A prominent Northerner in Rivers State, Alhaji Isa Saidu, says Northerners living and doing business in Rivers State will give their support to the incoming administration of Sir Siminallaye Fubara and his Deputy, Prof Ngozi Odu.
Saidu, who is also the leader of the Hausa community in the South-South region, said this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt.
He also denied that non-indigenes were discriminated against by the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike.
Saidu said Northerners living and doing business in Rivers State will support the incoming administration to enable it succeed.
According to him, Hausa community and other Northerners living in the State have always been peaceful, stressing that they will continue to remain peaceful and law-abiding.
Saidu also commended Governor Wike for the level of infrastructural development in the State, stressing that the numerous flyover brigdes across Port Harcourt have not only restored the aesthetic conditions of the city, but facilitated the movement of goods and services, thereby boosting business activities.
On the recent visit of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President-elect to Rivers State, he said the visit has afforded the President-elect the opportunity to get first hand information on the achievement of Governor Wike in infrastructural development.
He said Rivers State is honoured to have Tinubu coming to commission projects, when he is yet to be sworn in as the President of Nigeria, adding that the development shows that Rivers State has taken its pride of place in the comity of states in the country.
Saidu particularly commended Wike for the completion and commissioning of the Rumuokwuta flyover, adding that it has reduced the heavy traffic usually witnessed around the area.
