Customs Increase Surveillance In Badagry
The Marine Division of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has set up more patrol teams to carry out 24-hour surveillance of Badagry Waterways.
An official of the division, who preferred anonymity, told newsmen in Badagry on Monday that the directive to constitute more patrol teams came from the Customs headquarters in Abuja.
He said that the aim was to strengthen surveillance along the Badagry Waterways and check activities of smugglers who were now using the route regularly.
He said that the constitution of new teams were also to check activities of sea pirates.
Mr Adewale Elegbede, an Assistant Superintendent of Customs, supervises the new teams, it was gathered.
