NPFL: El-Kanemi Worriors Records Second Win
Bottom-rocked El-Kanemi Warriors recorded their second win of the 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League in style last Saturday, thanks to a 2-1 against fellow strugglers, Nasarawa United in Jos, Tidesports source.
A late goal by Jacob Jonathan won the game for El-Kanemi and condemned Nasarawa United to their eighth defeat of the season although the result still leaves both teams in the relegation zone in Group A.
Ugochukwu Ujah gave the visitors the lead in the 28th minute after benefititing from a poor pass from Emeka Onyema to chin the ball over Galadima Mohammed in goal for United.
Nasarawa United however responded before the end of the first half through Isaac James 36th minute penalty.
After several changes from both dug outs in search of a much-needed result, Jonathan won the game for El-Kanemi with an 89th winner which completed the Warriors’ double over Nasarawa United this season having also won the first leg 2-1 in February.
