The State Chairman of Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JoNAD), Comrade Collins Gladdie Akpanah, has said the association is working out welfare scheme for all of its members in the state.
Speaking shortly after his election and swearing in Port Harcourt, Akpanah said the new executive will work out a programme that will enable members to access scholarships for higher education.
According to him, members will be given opportunity to contribute ideas that will move the association forward.
Akpanah said his priority will be to provide a better way where scholarship will be given to some of its members especially those in tertiary institutions to improve on their studies, adding that the key areas as well will be to improve on the Disability Act.
“Gentlemen, I want to leave a legacy. I will implement the disability act,and improve the welfare of my people. We are suffering”, he said
He also claimed that the association has no leadership problem as those purportedly parading themselves are impostors.

“All cases have been trashed out in the court since 2021 in a suit No PMC/11193/2019”, adding that every court case was resolved before election and wonders why his predecessor will be going contrary.
