Amaechi Lauds Air France Over N40m Lounge
The Rivers State governor, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi last Tuesday commended Air France KLM for complementing the economy driven policy of the State Government, with the commissioning of a N40 million V.I.P. Lounge at the Port Harcourt International Airport , Omagwa.
The governor who was represented by the Rivers State commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Nabbas Imegwu, while Commissioning the V.I.P lounge, noted that Air France has been resolute in contributing to the economic growth of the state and urged it to adopt international best practices in rendering efficient service to its customers.
He said that government was ready to make sacrifices to rebuild the state pointing out that it has revamped all the deplorable infrastructure-roads, security, and is working toward ending irregular power supply in the state, in a bid to create enabling business environment.
Also, the wife of the governor, Dame Judith Amaechi who graced the occasion, lauded Air France KLM for being with the state since the problem period till now that the economy and developmental stride of the state have improved.
She noted that the event is a commeration to the 4th anniversary of Governor Amaechi’s Supreme Court Judgement, Assuring that the state will continue to partner with the Air France to move the state forward.
Earlier, in his remarks, the General Manager Air France KLM, Christian Herpin said the rehabilitation of the V.I.P lounge was estimated to cost N40 million and sponsored by Access Bank Plc.
He said that the aim was to satisfy their customers with the best comfort, saying that the faith and choice of Port Harcourt was hinged on Governor Amaechi’s rehabilitation of road to the air port and other parts of the state as well as improvement of other infrastructure and facilities that are attracting more business investors in the state.
Mr Herpin said plans were underway to also improve the lounge at Lagos Airport, saying that besides customer satisfaction it was also aimed at beating their competitors in the aviation business industry.
In his goodwill message at the event the Deputy Group Managing Director of Access Bank, Mr. Herbert Wigwe, said that it is the vision of the bank to support businesses that would impact positively to the people and the economy of the state in general, saying that Access Bank will continue to partner Air France in a bid to ensure efficient service delivery to customers.
