Council Boss Presents N953m Supplementary Budget
The Chairman of Etche Local Government Council of Rivers State, Mr Reginald Ukwuoma, has presented a supplementary budget of N953,000,000 to fast- track the councils’s development programmes.
Presenting the budget to the council’s legislature at Okehi, headquarters of the council, Ukwuoma said the budget would accommodate development programmes that were not incorporated in the 2011 budget.
He said some projects to be executed included the Integrated Oil Mills for the production of palm oil and groundnut oils.
Others are plants for the manufacture of local crafts, the construction of drains and installation of bore holes and mono pumps.
The chairman also said that the projects would include the installation of electricity in border towns along Igwuruta/Etche road.
He further said that he would widen and grade feeder roads and commence the second phase II of the Eketa-Igbodo ultra modern market.
He urged the people to exercise patience, adding that his administration would tackle the development needs of the area and create jobs for youths.
