Rotary Honours RSNC, RSTV, Others
The Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC), and the Rivers State Television (RSTV) were among corporate organisations conferred with vocational awards by the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt District 4140. Other beneficiaries of the awards are the Prime Medical Consultants and O.B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation.
The President, Rotary Club of Port Harcourt District 4140, Rotarian Dominic Okofor said that the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation and the Rivers State Television (RSTV) were conferred with the award for their commitment to ethical values and excellence in print and broadcast journalism, respectively.
The General Manager of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC), Mr. Celestine Ogolo who received the award on behalf of corporation said that the gesture would go a long way in motivating both staff and management to continue to do more for the people.
Mr. Ogolo also said that the corporation would continue to partner with the Rotary Club with a view to propagating its activities.
The General Manager of the Rivers State Television (RSTV), Mr. Tonye Ekong who was represented by the Director, News and Current Affairs, Mr. Obele Chu also thanked the club for the gesture.
Meanwhile, eighty million people worldwide have been alleged to experience infertility. Professor John Iyemo Ikhimalo the Chief Medical Consultant of Prime Medical Consultants said this in his lecture entitled: “Assisted Concept, the Joy of Fertility Challenged Couples” at the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Vocational Award Night in Port Harcourt.
Professor Ikhimalo who was represented by Dr. Chinedu Okongwu also blamed the problem on drugs, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and others.
He urged those affected to always report cases to qualified medical specialists for prompt attention.
