Think-Tank Releases Report On Insecurity In Nigeria

A think-tank based in Abuja, Agora Policy, is set to release its second report titled ‘Understanding and tackling insecurity in Nigeria’.
Agora Policy, a non-profit policy ideation organisation, aims to proffer practical solutions to critical national challenges.
The organisation is headed by a former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, Waziri Adio.
Agora conducts policy research, facilitates frank and purposeful dialogues, and build capacity for governance, policy and advocacy.
The new publication is basically expected to address the major factors contributing to insecurity in Nigeria, with the aim of proffering possible solutions to the menace.
A tweet issued by the think-tank says the publication looks at the key types, manifestations and drivers of insecurity in the country and proffers solutions.
The platform is fundamentally aimed at addressing three critical challenges in the country: the dearth of actionable research on pressing policy challenges; limited attempt at building national consensus on policy options; low capacity for policy design, implementation and advocacy.
The Tide reports that the United Kingdom and the United States, in October, warned of possible terrorists’ attack in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
This year, Nigeria has recorded series of deadly terrorist attacks including the attack on a Kaduna-Abuja train in March, the prison break at Kuje Correctional Centre in the Federal Capital Territory, and the attack on Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.
