Wike Releases Funds For Repair Of Emohua-Kalabari Road
The Rivers State Government has released funds for the immediate repair of the bad sections of the Emohua-Kalabari Road.
The road has been in the news over the last couple of weeks following the spate of reports of alleged security breach by unknown gunmen, who rob and kidnap unsuspecting citizens plying the road.
The release was contained in a statement signed by the Special Assistant (Media and Documentation) to the Hon. Commissioner for Works, Rivers State, Dornubari Kiinee, yesterday, in Port Harcourt.
The statement read in full: “His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate commencement of rehabilitation work on the over two kilometres critical failed sections of Emohua-Kalabari Road.
“The governor has consequently released 100percent of the fund needed for the project, and construction work will commence on Monday, October 31, 2022.
“The reconstruction of the major road connecting Kalabari Kingdom to the rest of Rivers State will consist of both concrete (rigid) and asphaltic (flexible) pavements to prevent its dilapidation in the near future.
“The project is expected to be completed in six weeks”, the statement added.
