RSG Lauds LG Boss Over Projects Execution
Governor of Rivers State, Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi, has commended the Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Hon Theodore Samuel Georgewill for embarking on projects that have impacted positively on the people.
The governor, who made the commendation during the commissioning of some projects executed in the first 100 days in office of Hon Georgewill also lauded the local government boss for maintaining the peace in the area.
Represented by the state Commissioner for Housing, Hon Marshall Uwom, Governor Amaechi stressed the need for what he called “tight security” in the area, saying, peace was vital to facilitate development in the area.
Earlier, the local government chairman, Hon Georgewill had urged the people of Akuku-Toru to embrace peace which, he said, had been instrumental to quality service delivery in his first 100 days in office.
He explained that the provision of a gun boat for the Navy in the area was necessitated by the need to curb the menace of sea piracy.
Other projects commissioned are the council secretariat, ICT centre, cars for councillors and directors as well as desks for Kula community schools.
The Amayanabo of Abonnema, His Royal Highness, Barr Gbobo Disreal Bob-Manuel, Comptroller Immigration, A.S. Fimibama and the Commissioner for Urban Development, Dr Tammy Danagogo were among dignitaries at the occasion which ended with a thanksgiving service at Nyemoni Cathedral Church, Abonnema.
