LG Boss Backs GDI On PVC Sensitisation Campaign
Following the sensitisation campaign on the importance of Permanent Voter Card (PVC) by the Grassroots Development Initiative (GDI), the Chairman of Tai Local Government Council, Hon. Mbakpomee Okpe, has pledged to support the organisation to achieve their set objectives.
He described PVC as a treasure in the present political dispensation, saying, the era has passed when votes were not counted and results being manipulated.
Okpe said this during GDI’s sensitisation campaign tagged “Operation Show Your PVC” at the council’s headquarters in Sapenwa, weekend.
He advised the people of Tai to collect their PVC and cherish it like a treasure.
“ As a council, we are very happy with the level of awareness, commitment and determination shown by the people to get their PVCs.
“The large turn out at the event today is highly encouraging, this has shown that PDP has already won the elections come 2023. I want to tell you that the people of Tai are ready to vote for all PDP candidates”, Okpe said.
According to him, Tai is in total support of PDP, adding that they are determined to deliver the governorship flagbearer of the party, Amaopusenibo Siminialayi Fubara, and his Deputy, Prof. Ngozi Ordu.
“I assure you that come 2023 PDP will sweep Rivers State. Honestly, I commend GDI for coordinating the sensitisation campaign effectively for the party.
“It is like stating the obvious that Governor Nyesom Wike’s administration has transformed the State. The entire people of Tai also commend him over his developmental projects that he executed”, he stated.
Earlier, the planning committee chairman of the event, Dr. Peter Medee, described the exercise as a successful one.
Medee, a former Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources in the State, said no party can be compared to PDP based on the track records of Governor Wike.
He commended the leadership of GDI in the state for doing what he called a great work.
