Igbo Youths Justify Soludo’s N100bn Loan Request
A group of youths in Anambra State, the Igbo Youths for Positive Change (IYPC) has said there was nothing wrong with the N100 billion Ioan request which the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, applied for.
The group said there was a lot of work to do in Anambra and Soludo was determined to get them done.
The governor had written the state House of Assembly to approve a loan of N100billion for him.
The loan facility, according to the governor, would be for the construction and refurbishment of key infrastructure in the state.
Addressing journalists in Awka, on Monday, the National President of IYPC, Mr Chinedu Obigwe, said the loan request, if secured, would be used for the public good.
Obigwe added that the governor is not someone that is reckless in the management of resources.
He also commended the state lawmakers for the passage of the 2022 revised budget presented to them by Soludo, pointing out that the passage of the budget has shown that light will always triumph over darkness.
He said the smooth passage of the revised budget showed that the lawmakers were in support of the governor’s mission to turn the state to a liveable and prosperous homeland.
He stressed that the Assembly speaker demonstrated uncommon leadership qualities, capacity and competence in the discharge of his duties.
According to him, “Detractors have been put to shame because they never expected the revised budget to be passed easily by the House of Assembly members.
“As for the N100bn Ioan request, we will say that there is nothing wrong with it. Soludo is not someone that is reckless in the management of resources and its obvious that he has the burning desire to turn Anambra into a liveable and prosperous homeland.
“There is a lot of work to do in Anambra and the governor is determined to get them done. There is nothing wrong with the governor’s loan request because if secured, he will use the money for the public good.
“The N100bn loan request is not for consumption rather it is money that will be deployed in the development of our State. We have no doubt that the members of the House of Assembly will grant the governor’s loan request because they know that the loan request is for the public good.
“Ndi Anambra, the solution to all our problems is here with us. Let us continue supporting Soludo for the actualisation of his mission to turn our beloved state into a liveable and prosperous homeland.
“We thank the House Committee on Appropriation for the role they played to ensure the passage of the revised budget”.
