Group Threatens Protest Against Presidential Candidates
A Niger Delta-based Non-Governmental Organisation, Patriotic Forum Of Niger Delta (PAFOND) has vowed to mobilise the people against any presidential candidate whose programme does not include the development of the region.
The group said this in a communique at the end of its recent meeting in Port Harcourt, in which it also condemned the recent attack on the General Overseer of Christ the Life Bible International Church, Prophet Ezuo Simeon.
The communique was jointly signed by the National Chairman, Comrade Owoh Udoh, and Publicity Secretary, Richard Monday, stated unequivocally that it will not support Presidential candidates who will not develop Niger Delta Region and improve the economy of the country.
It, however, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that all projects awarded in the region, especially Railway and road construction projects, are completed before the expiration of his tenure to justify the support given to him by Niger Delta.
