ALGON Drums Support For Fubara
The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Rivers State chapter has congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate in the state, Amaopusenibo Siminialayi Fubara over his emergence as the party’s flag-bearer.
ALGON also hailed the candidate for successfully receiving a certificate of return as a seal of authority of the party’s national leadership to contest the 2023 governorship election in the state.
The state Chairman of ALGON and Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Sir Allwell Ihunda, expressed this position when he led other members of the association on a congratulatory visit to the governorship candidate of the PDP in Rivers State for the 2023 elections, Fubara in his residence in Port Harcourt.
Speaking on behalf of other members of the association, Ihunda said the emergence of Fubara as the governorship candidate of the PDP was divinely orchestrated.
He expressed belief that Fubara would consolidate on the legacies of the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike.
Ihunda assured Fubara of the support and commitment of members of ALGON to the success of his election in 2023.
Responding, the Rivers State PDP Governorship Candidate, Siminialayi Fubara thanked members of the association for the visit, and pledged his unflinching commitment to sustain the achievements of Governor Nyesom Wike in the last seven years.
Fubara had defeated several other contestants in the Governorship primaries of the PDP held on May 25, 2022,at the Obi Wali International Conference Centre, Port Harcourt.
He received the certificate of return from the National Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorcha Ayu, last Tuesday, in Abuja.
Similarly, the Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Hon. Onengiyeofori George has congratulated Siminialayi Fubara on the official presentation of his Certificate of Return as the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State.
George, in a congratulatory message signed on his behalf by the Chief Press Secretary, John Paul Braide, last Wednesday, in Buguma City, said the emergence of Fubara as the Governorship candidate of the PDP in Rivers State was, indeed, a blessing for all Rivers people.
He noted that the leaders, stakeholders and party faithful who came out in solidarity and patiently waited for the arrival of the Rivers Governorship hopeful till late night, last Tuesday, expressly showed the weight of love Rivers people would replicate at the polling units in the forthcoming 2023 general election to ensure an overwhelming victory for Fubara.
George, who rained encomiums on the person and character of Fubara, added that candidate’s wealth of experience, creativity and proven track record on civic engagement would play different but profoundly complementary and collaborative role to engender economic productivity and competitiveness when he becomes the elected governor of Rivers State.
The ASALGA chief executive officer, however, wooed all well-meaning Rivers’ sons and daughters to vote massively in the forthcoming 2023 general election for the victory of PDP and for the emergence of Fubara as the next governor of the state.
