‘S’South Youth’ll Support Southern President Come 2023’
The Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Rivers State Chapter and South-South Zone, Amb Ihunwo Chijioke, has declared the intention of the youths from the South-South region of the country to throw their support behind a southern president at the coming 2023 presidential election.
Chijioke, who made the statement in a press briefing in Port Harcourt, stated that youths from the South-South region would only support a southern president because it was the turn of the South to produce the next president of Nigeria.
He maintained that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar lacks what it takes to tackle insecurity and revamp the economy from its current state.
“Atiku is aged, nothing good will come out from him”, he stated.
He explained that what took place at the just concluded PDP presidential primary in Abuja was a plan by the Northerners to betray Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike because they were afraid of him.
“Nigerians have lost a good man in Governor Nyesom Wike who would have salvaged them from poverty and insecurity,” he said.
Reacting to issues in the state, the youth leader explained that the former NIMASA boss, Dr. Dakuku Peterside should abstain from misinforming the public and criticising the credible efforts of Governor Nyesom Wike and pledge his full support to his brother, and the PDP Governorship flag-bearer, Siminialayi Fubara.
Ihunwo maintained that Dakuku, who started as a youth, and yet has no impact on Rivers youth, should join hands with the leaders of the state and think of how to move the state forward.
He further stated that Rivers youths under his watch would throw their full support behind the PDP governorship candidate, Mr. Siminialayi Fubara at the coming Rivers 2023 gubernatorial election.
Ihunwo explained that the candidature of Fubara, who has the interest of Rivers people at heart, would make a good governor when elected as the governor of Rivers State in February, 2023.
