Rivers Community Begs Wike For Road, Pledges Unalloyed Support
An oil-bearing Community, Ebrass in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, has cried out to Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike to approve construction of their only road that links them to other communities in the area.
The people of the community said, they are in dire need of good road network that could make them travel out of their community with ease. They complained that as the rain sets in, it becomes a herculean task for the people to travel to Ahoada their only township.
The community made the appeal after arising from a communal meeting held on Wednesday comprising elders, men, women and youths of the community.
Addressing journalists, the Paramount Ruler of the community, Chief Gospel C. Ned, poured encomiums on Governor Wike for his developmental projects all over the state.
“No wonder, you are called Mr. Project. Today, we draw the attention of Governor Wike to our deplorable road, please, help us to enable us have good road that will link us to the outside world.”
“Our local government chairman, Evang. Hope Ikiriko, has tried to mount electrical poles for the purpose of electrification, but there is no wire on the poles and no transformer, we beg you passionately to assist him in order to complete our electrification project,” he added.
The paramount chief noted that Ebrass community as PDP community contributed to the success of Wike’s re-election in 2019, and still pledged their unflinching support in his presidential bid come 2023.
