Wike Promises To Wade Into Convict’s Legal Tussle
The frontline People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential aspirant, Chief Nyesom Wike, has promised to wade into the legal tussle that led to the incarceration of Kano lover boy, Yunusa Dahiru, aka Yellow, jailed in Bayelsa State.
A Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, had in 2020 sentenced Yunusa Dahiru to 26 years imprisonment for child trafficking and sexual exploitation of Ese Oruru.
Ese was reportedly abducted by Dahiru in Bayelsa in 2015, taken to Kano State where she was allegedly forcefully married and impregnated by Dahiru.
The Rivers State Governor who made the pledge in Kano in response to a request by the PDP Chairman, Kano Chapter, Shehu Wada Sagagi, asked for details to enable him make an informed decision.
Shehu Wada Sagagi had in a welcome speech requested the visiting presidential aspirant to, on behalf of Kano people, assist the convicted Kano randy boy languishing in jail.
Sagagi said, “Kano is disturbed by series of events that led to the conviction of our own Yunusa Dahiru, and we decried the inhuman treatment being meted out to him in jail. In the light of this, we request Your Excellency to intervene on this matter so dear to us here in Kano.”
Wike in response, requested for details of the case file , as he assured Kano PDP stalwart of his readiness to do everything possible within the ambit of the law to serve justice.
The tough-talking governor was in Kano where he had a critical stakeholders meeting in respect of his presidential ambition. While in the city, he paid a courtesy call on the Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.
