Okon Optimistic Of Total Victory Against Bayelsa Queens
Head Coach of Rivers Angel’s FC of Port Harcourt, Edwin Okon, has expressed Optimism that his team would secure an outright win against arch rivals Bayelsa Queens in the last fixtures of the Nigeria Women Football Federation (NWFL) when they meet next week.
Okon disclosed this in an interview with Tidesports, yesterday shortly after their(team’s) training session.
The match which is expected to be the league ending fixtures is scheduled to be decided next week Wednesday at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) Sports Complex, Choba, Port Harcourt.
According to Okon he is expecting nothing less than a total victory as they (Rivers Angels) host their opponents next week, adding that his team is preparing assidously for the last encounter of the season.
“We have to win and convincingly too. It’s the last match of the season, so we are determined to secure all three points at stake. That is our Target and my girls are in high spirit and getting ready for the task,” Okon said.
Speaking on the team’s defeat to FC Robo Queens of Ijebu-Ode and Abia Angel’s in Umuhia , in previous fixtures the Technical adviser of the Jewels of Rivers said that football is a no man’s game saying that, no matter how good you’re you can not win all the time.
“That’s the beauty of the game you win, draw and loose some. Saying that, others are there to win too. You might be a better team or player and end up losing the game,” Okon explained
The team currently occupies the second position on the long with 20 points while, their Bayelsa counterparts are occupying the driver’s seat with 21 points.
