Etche Community Dissolves CDC, Standing Committees
As part of efforts to fast track development and enthrone lasting peace in the area, the Akwukabi Community in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, has dissolved all standing committees in the area including the Community Development Committee (CDC )
The dissolution was the outcome of the enlarged stakeholders meeting held at the community square with the elders, chiefs, opinion leaders and youth of the various villages in attendance , last Sunday.
Speaking to journalists on behalf of the chiefs, the Ngbaragida of Umuezibe village, Chief Precious Dike, said the dissolution of all the standing committees was due to the exipiration of their tenures.
Dike, while thanking the affected committee members on behalf of the community for their selfless services to the community, said new members will be appointed in those committees in due course and urged the affected officers to hand over all the community properties at their disposal to the palace of the paramount ruler of the community .
The Tide reports that the affected committees include, Community Development Committee (CDC), youth executives, sanitation and electricity committees among others, and urged the general public to take note of the development in the community .
