Bonny Legislative Assembly Passes Vote Of Confidence On Chairman
Following the impressive performance of the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area in Rivers State, Hon. Anengi Barasua, the Legislative Assembly in the area, has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on her.
The Leader of the 9th Assembly, Rt. Hon Larry Banigo, announced this during their plenary session on Friday in Bonny. Rt. Hon. Banigo said the chairman’s excellent performance within the short period in office, is the reason why the 9th Assembly, under his leadership, deemed it necessary to pass a vote of confidence on her.
He explained that her good works in terms of security in the local government, which has led to the peace, unity and orderliness the council area now enjoys necessitated the action of the Legislative Assembly.
According to him, her decision on open grazing and scavenging in the LGA was commendable. “I want to say that her infrastructural development, human empowerment and enforcement of war against illegal bunkering as directed by Governor Nyesom Wike, have placed her above board.
“We urge her to continue in the same spirit of transparency and involvement of all stakeholders”. She added.
He expressed the readiness of the legislative arm to support the chairman to achieve her aims and objectives, as it will affect the overall interest of the people of Bonny.
Meanwhile, some residents of Bonny have described the vote of confidence as timely based on her track records within few months.
