LG Boss Pledges Commitment, Accountability
Chairman of Tai Local Government Area, Hon Mkoakpeno Okpe, has pledged to be committed, transparent and accountable to the people of Tai.
He said his administration was determined to transform all towns and villages in the LGA with the little resources that would be accrued to the council within the period under his leadership.
Hon Okpe disclosed this over the weekend, at the council headquarters during a public bidding to build two markets, which he said would be located at Oporoma and Bitem Tai.
According to him, the markets will no doubt boost economic activities in the area as the essence of the bidding was to award the contract of the building to competent companies that could deliver in record time.
“My administration is determined to transform all nooks and crannies of the area with the little resources that will accrue within the period under review. I vow to complement the efforts of the State Government led by Chief Nyesom Wike in the areas of security, infrastructure and human capital development”, he added. “He equally explained that no community will be left out in his drive to transformation of the area.
The LGA Boss also urged the affected communities to give maximum support to the contractors to deliver on time. Hon Okpe used the occasion to warn those engaged in illegal bunkering activities often called ‘kpo fire” to desist as its consequences are dangerous to health, saying that the directive of the State Government must be obeyed. The dividends of democracy remain paramount in my administration following the massive support given to me by people during electioneering campaigns.
